Ben Siems is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Best known for his work as leader, composer and guitarist of The Willie August Project jazz trio, he creates music in a wide array of styles, from folk-blues to modern classical to cinematic and avant-garde. He has received over a half dozen awards in the Song of the Year international songwriting contest and over ten grants from Meet the Composer, Inc., The American Composers Forum and other agencies. Since 2003, he has composed soundtrack music for over thirty dance works, plays, documentary video works and independent films.
