Notes about Stefan's process:
The entire album is produced with GarageBand. Stefan wanted to create a project that could be created with a limited amount of resources and access to limited computer technology. Using only the built in microphone on his 2006 Apple MacBook, his voice, "the musical keyboard" function on his laptop keyboard, his desk, various objects around his room, and hundreds of layered loops. "I try to personalize, splice, and honor the creator of ever loop. Personally, I only use licensed loops that have been payed for; out of respect," is how he describes his use of the built in loops in GarageBand. As to why he limited himself so much for a first project, "I wanted to do something that connected and gave back to the only loyal audience I have had over the years, people between eighteen and thirty. They made me on the internet with clicks… ...and they aren't a big spending generation, which is not their fault. They are worldwide, so I had to find something I could offer that was no more than a dollar and a half U.S. on the high end, and preferably nothing. On top of all that, I feel a connection with these people, I had problems very similar when I was where they are, and the world was safer then, the future hadn't set it. When I looked at the stress encountered by this generation I decided a good album would do two things, first inspire and acknowledge a group that is ignored and criticized. And second to say thank you to so many unnamed #Fans who have been there from the beginning of my Internet experiences since circa 2000.
