About the artist

Victoria Mazyck (born July 10, 1990), better known as Toya, is an American Pop and R&B singer-songwriter right out of Washington State. She was introduced to singing when she was just a baby. Music runs throughout her family. She thanks her mother and father for introducing the passion and love for music that she has in her, and for believing that she can do anything she sets her mind to. Toya first started publically singing in her church choir when she was 4 years old. She then added on by joining her school's choir and band. She also took drama classes which helped her gain confidence in being on stage in front of people. When she was 13, she started writing poems and attempting to turn them into songs. At first they didn’t sound like much; but as time passed by she became a stronger writer with the ability to put melodies to her words. She has sung with many different types of artists: from Rap, to Hip-Hop, Rock, Experimental, Pop, and R&B. Her vocals are capable of accenting many genres of music. With influences such as Alicia Keys, Jamie Foxx, Musiq Soulchild, Brandy, John Legend, Lauryn Hill, and many more, her singing style is something of her own. The first song she ever recorded professionally was a song she wrote called, “So Amazing” (2008-2009). It was this song that showed everyone what she was capable of. Ever since then, she started to be noticed around Seattle, WA and even in other cities of other states. She then started doing many features as a means to practice her recording and performance abilities. Her new single “Crazy Fool” (2010) is the end result. She hopes that she can go far, and make music that people can relate to and feel to the fullest! www.myspace.com/victoriamusiqk
