Martell Lacey is an Pop/RnB/Soul artist from Houston, TX. A singer, actor, songwriter, and performer, he has been performing since the age of 12. Martell graduated from Eisenhower High School performing & acting in several productions. He began singing & getting musical direction from V. Michael McKay, Shirley Joiner & Stephanie Wright. While in college he joined the HCC drama department under the direction of Kathleen Knight. Some of the shows he was a part of was “The Magic Flute”, “All Roads Lead to Oz”, “The 40's Radio Hour”, “Drama, Lies, & Deceit”, “After The Vows”, “If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time”, & “Bag Ladies”. Martell has sung background vocals for TVone’s R&B Diva Chante Moore. He’s also filmed an independent film entitled “Public Service Announcement” directed by Bruce Owdley. Martell has also performed on the locally renowned musical production DITS (Dancin’ In The Street) the Motown and More Revue in front of crowds of 6-8k. Coming from gospel roots, he is influenced by several types of music. The artist that heavily influenced him are Stevie Wonder, Bobby Caldwell, Whitney Houston, Eric Benet, Maxwell, Luther Vandross, Michael & Janet Jackson. Martell considers his sound as a pop-soul fusion with intentions of reaching a wide spectrum of music lovers.
