About the artist

My name is Ted Stockton, some call me Teddy. I was born and raised an Iowa man with two moms. When I was 14 I picked up my first guitar, strapped it on my back and rode my bicycle to a local hangout called United Action for Youth in Iowa City, the town I grew up in. They had a room set up with a drum set, bass amp, and guitar amp, along with acoustic guitars in the main room of the building, and there were volunteers who would help teach, along with the other musicians who would come hang out and share their knowledge of music. During the summers I would do this every day, and learned a lot about what I love doing, which is playing music. Artists such as Slash from Guns n’ Roses, and Pantera’s Dimebag Darrell Abbott were my inspiration as a young guitarist, and as I grew older my influences changed and I found my voice. Most recently my music has been impacted by artists like Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Granger Smith. I want my fans to be able to lose themselves in the music they hear from me, to be able to let go of stress and any negativity, I want people to physically feel good and happy with themselves, and their entire life in the very moment they are experiencing my music, as my goal in life is to help others. My late mother taught me that the most satisfying thing in life is working towards the end of human suffering, both physically and emotionally, and this is my part.

I am finishing this 2017 year with two digitally released songs, Wild Tonight and Baby Will Ya. My first official music video is coming out December 13th for Wild Tonight, produced and recorded by Luminary Productions out of Des Moines, Iowa. The song is a tribute to the blue-collar workers to remember to let loose after those working hours and treat yourself to whatever makes you happy. The video takes place in the heart of Music City, Tennessee and really captures the outgoing atmosphere of downtown Nashville bringing out the fun in people. My first release, Baby Will Ya, I wrote for my wife and first dance at our wedding. The song really tugs on the heart strings and is a reminder that no matter what the past holds, it’s behind us for a reason and built the road that lead us to where we are today.

Lyrics

I've got good and bad
scars that last
From workin hard
And gettin kicked in the ass, uh huh
I got an 18" crescent with an impact
When I'm workin overtime
Just to make a little cash, uh huh

Yeah cuz who I am
Is a workin man
Just A blue collar rockstar with a couple of fans
I'm goin out tonight
Yeah we're gonna do it right

Breaker one nine
Calling all the bad girls
In the club who like to show it off
I wanna see you on the dance floor doing what you do
and you know that I don't want to talk
I wanna see crazy baby it's not even a maybe
I wanna get wild tonight
Breaker one nine
Calling all the bad girls
who wanna get wild tonight (get wild tonight)

I walk through the door
Like it's an encore
Dirty hat
Chain swingin ready for more, uh huh
Give me that Jim beam
And I can guarantee
I'ma let loose Like you ain't ever seen, uh huh
Yeah cuz who I am
Is a workin man
Just A blue collar rockstar with a couple of fans
I'm goin out tonight
Yeah we're gonna do it right

Breaker one nine
calling all the bad girls in the club who like to show it off
I wanna see you on the dance floor doing what you do
and you know that I don't want to talk
I wanna see crazy baby it's not even a maybe
I wanna get wild tonight
Breaker one nine
Calling all the bad girls
who wanna get wild tonight (get wild tonight)
