Liner notes

This is a fun uptempo riff on all the little things in life we love to do that isn't necessarily good for us. There is some great multiple guitar work here that really moves the song along. Taken from a traditional Rock-n-Roll/blues jump style. This track is pure rock fun. With a message of "what does it matter anyway". just go do what you like to do.

"What does it matter anyway
my only future is here today
Nowhere to go and nothing to say
So what does it matter anyway"

MIP Review:
Your song, “Atomatter,” was a very well targeted submission for our recent posting for “country songs.” It was not only well targeted but also very well written. All involved agreed that the song was very strong in both format and structure. Your craftsmanship as a writer was obvious to all. Thank you for a quality submission. We enjoyed listening to, and discussing your work. Sincerely, The A&R Staff Sweet Rosie Music.

Licensing Ideas: This song would be great as the theme for an addictive product like a Rubics Cube or something similar. It also makes real comments about our culture and would work great in a movie about Teens or College students.

About the artist

Ted Lehman hails from Long Island, then Buffalo, New York, where he discovered his fondness for chicken wings and his hatred for the cold. Ted perfected his flashy guitar riffs while performing with the band, Pepperwood Greene in the Western New York Area during the late '70's. Playing mostly original songs by Ted and the other members of the band. His musical styles tend to run from Rock to blues to pop, country and folk. But mostly, Ted's writing and performing influences come from artists like John Prine and Steve Goodman, Bonnie Rait, Robert Johnson, & B.B. King. Groups like The Beatles, the Doors, artists like Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, great performing acts like Little Feat, Santana and Moody Blues. Musical influences as diverse as Frank Zappa, Spirit and The Eagles can be heard in many of Lehman's songwriting efforts.

Ted has been writing & playing music for most of his life. His band "Pepperwood Greene" based out of Buffalo NY, was a vehicle for songwriters to produce their music. After leaving Buffalo Ted moved to Atlanta and, worked for a number of years writing and recording at home. With the advent of MP3 technology and the internet "I finally thought it was time to share all of my recordings both old and new on the web". Ted's internet activity, the quality of his work and his marketing savvy yielded almost 20 other independent artists to cover his songs which can be heard on his charity compilation "Legacy 4 U" (set of 4 CD's). "After spending most of my life writing and recording music I find that I have a rather large archive of written and recorded material. (14 CD's worth) I consider myself a songwriter first and performer and recording artist second." Ted is interested in other artists covering his songs. He is also interested in licensing his compositions and recordings for TV, Film, Advertising, & Video Games.
Ted is now a published artist at APR Music Publishing, LLC (ASCAP)

[(G-C)(F-C)][D-A-G-D-A-G-D]

put out the lights
so you don't go blind
violence on TV
will mess up your mind

make sure that you know
what your horoscope says
there are riots in the streets
and somebody's dead

you can't stop looking
at the girls behinds
the way that they move
you know it's a crime

What does it matter anyway
my only future is here today
Nowhere to go and nothing to say
So what does it matter anyway

Everybody talks
But nobody shares
Everybody wants
but nobody shares

you're 30 years old
and you never left home
lookin" for comfort
but always alone

always avoiding
somebody's stares
the pace of life
is splittin' your hairs

here I am
with my old guitar
playin' in beer joints
and dirty bars

worrying about
what the future will be
looking for something
there's no way to see

watching the money
in big fancy cars
I'm not too near
And not too far
