About Max Grousse
Max Gousse is an award winning entertainment executive and entrepreneur. Over the course of his 25-year career he has spearheaded some of Hip-Hop and R&B’s greatest projects and has discovered some amazing talent. Max is a multi-faceted businessman.
His roles have included being the Sr. Vice President of A&R for Sony’s Epic Records, Executive Vice President of Music World Entertainment, and Sr. Vice President of Universal Music Group’s Def Jam Record’s A&R division. During his run at Epic, Max discovered and developed the hottest R&B group of the new millennium, B2K. While at Music World Ent. Max supervised all recordings and strategic partnerships for the company’s roster of A-list artists such as Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams as well as being the chief liaison for securing multiple endorsement and partnership deals. At Def Jam, Max worked with some of Hip-Hop’s most notable artists including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Rick Ross, among others. He is also the man responsible for Beyoncé’s Grammy-Award winning hit “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” (2009) and Grammy-Award winning albums B-Day (2006) and I Am...Sasha Fierce (2009).
Although Max has an impressive track record within the music industry, he has also had success within film. He produced the #1 box office hit movie You Got Served (2004) as well as the soundtracks of movies Barbershop (2002) and Cadillac Records (2008).
He has had over 40 million units sold and his film and music projects have grossed over $500 million worldwide. In addition to being an award winning A&R and producer, Max is a consultant to several major labels and music publishers including BMG, Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Tyrese, UMG, Razor and Tie, Ballup, and Reach Global. Given his track record, it is clear that Max has an undeniable eye for talent. His most recent discoveries include YG (Def Jam), Ty Dolla $ign (Atlantic Records), DJ Mustard (Roc Nation), and Kieran Alleyne (Artistry/Virgin Records).
Now CEO of his own company, Artistry Worldwide, Max is taking his various skills within music, film, and consulting to new heights, developing his company into what is sure to be his legacy. Artistry Worldwide currently has offices in Los Angeles, Toronto, Dubai, Seoul, and London.
