Allie's big break was in 1999 to 2002 when she wrote for VH1 and MTV.com as a writer online, she interviewed everyone from Lenny Kravitz to Elton John to Tina Turner and a little known band named Blink 182. In 1999 Shaw also started underground mags Static and Static Planet while in college and was the music editor for her college newspaper and radio DJ for 94 Rock.
In 2004 Shaw started Hyperactive Music Magazine that quickly went national in over 3000 locations and 13 countries, Hyperactive won many awards including Rolling Stone Magazines best indie Mag of 2006, and Mania TV’s favorite mag. Hyperactive won the coveted DEZIGN award with their March 2006 illustrated cover of The Flaming Lips created by Rolling Stone Magazine’s Illustrator Okan Arabacioglu
From there evolved Manic Monkee MGMT and Marketing, a firm that does marketing and consulting for Tech Music and Music centric platforms and a development firm that has managed and developed many acts currently and past including The Ettes, A House For Lions, The Cringe, The Attorneys/Flying Machines Soular, Fielding, Fight The Quiet, Hit By A Bus, Winter Circle, Bernadette Seacrest, God-Des and She, Shayna Zaid and the Catch. Manic Monkee bands have had major music placements including the 2010 National/International Ford Edge commercial, The Cotton Comercials, Old Navy, American Eagle, CSI, Law And Order, Grey’s Anatomy and many many more.
Allison was also the Head of Brand Development for Hip Hop band Public Enemy.
Shaw was the founder for Hyperactive Music Festival and Conference in Albuquerque. Hyperfestival started in 2006-2008 around 200 bands played and over 60 industry speakers from MTV, Warner, Xm Radio, ASCAP, Sesac, , E! Entertainment, Subpop, The Agency Group, Nimbit, Fox Films, Epic, Blender, Spin, AP Press, NPR and many more. Bands that have played previously are The Fray, 30HI3, Flobots, Tickle Me Pink, Fastball, K’s Choice, Girl In A Coma, The Morning Benders, The Maine, Green River Ordinance, Dusty Rhodes and The River Band, The Zac Brown Band, Meese, Brokencyde, Jay Nash, Tim Easton, Jen Foster, Halestorm, Blind Pilot, and many more… Shaw also consults for other music festivals and helps with showcases and panel topics and speakers.
In 2007 Allison was the Executive Director for the Santa Fe Muzik Fest that had over 300 bands and 60,000 attendees. Wu Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Shiny Toy Guns, Everclear, Blue October, George Clinton, Basshunter, One Republic, Blues Traveler, Burning Spear, Modest Mouse and many more. In 2007 as well Allison was recognized by Albuquerque Magazine as one of the 15 mover and shakers in New Mexico
Most recently Shaw was the Director Of Operations for Listen Records/Sony owned by Rachael Ray and John Cusimano, and is part of the creating team and Event Producer and talent booker and co-host emcee for Rachael Ray at festivals like the highly touted Feedback Festival during SXSW currently being held at Stubbs and included bands like Kenny Loggins, Eagles Of Death Metal, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, She& Him, Andrew WK, Jakob Dylan and Neko Case, Social Street Sweeper with Tom Morello, John Popper, First lady of rockabilly Wanda Jackson, Fitz And The Tantrums, Jimmy Cliff, Train, LP, Billy Gibbons, The New York Dolls, The Hold Steady, and more.
Allison also produces and does sponsorships for brands at events such as Sundance, The Grammy’s, The Oscars, Coachella, Lallapolloza, SXSW, Fashion Week, Music conferences, CMJ’s, ASCAP Expo, Canadian Music Week, Comic-Con, The Warped Tour, CES, and more
Allison is always looking for new Management clients and helping performers place music in Film, Commercials and with brands with her extensive network of music supervisors and creative agencies, and also books over 100 bands at SXSW including The Rachael Ray party, Quantum Collective SXSW, Grammy parties, Sundance, Academy Awards, Major festivals and so many more events during the year all over the country with national exposure!
