About the artist
Best known as the leader, composer and guitarist of The Willie August Project jazz trio (http://www.myspace.com/WillieAugust), Ben Siems composes music across the spectrum of styles, from singer-songwriter acoustic to avant classical to cinematic soundscapes for film, dance, and theatrical works.
Liner notes
This is a cello duet influenced by twentieth century string works such as those of Shostakovich and Jon Zorn. In performance, it is actually played four-hands style (as shown in the image); it is unique in that regard.
