Jeff was responsible for signing Macy Gray, Hoobastank, Daniel Powter, Linkin Park, and recently he found a band called w.e.r.m. on Music Xray and after working with them in his studio and doing some co-writing, Jeff got them signed to Universal Republic.
Similarly, Reed Waddle contacted Jeff via Music Xray and they are currently in the studio together and a major publishing deal is in the works. Another band, called Riot Child was signed to BMG Worldwide in late 2013 after getting their music to Jeff. Other Music Xray artists working with Jeff have had their songs placed in major TV shows and another artist is currently fielding several offers.
If Jeff selects your song, he will contact you regarding how he proceeds.
Submit your song and I will provide you a professional critique, telling you straight what the good is and offering constructive criticism about how to improve your potential masterpiece. Each critique will be approx. 1,000 words. As a senior editor, reporter, columnist and single reviews critic at Billboard magazine in NYC for 14 years, I have reviewed music in every genre, from country, pop, rock and hip-hop to smooth jazz, dance, ambient, AC and soul. You will kindly submit a high-quality version of the song you would like critiqued (studio versions preferred over live) along with lyrics and band/artist bio. I will provide a constructive review focusing on the vocal, lyric, arrangement, instrumentation and whatever other particulars you ask me to listen for.
I have many decades of experience in developing one's original voice. Both as an artist and as a coach to musicians and artists. In addition to 11 solo recordings I've worked with King Crimson, David Sylvian, Vernon Reid, Brian Eno, TOOL, Steven Wilson and Puscifer.
I can listen to your music through, both, your ears (to hear if you are reaching your musical aims) and my ears (to hear how the piece matches up with my experience as a player/producer.) I will give advice, opinions, critiques, commentaries, articulations and 'the works' about where you are heading.
Additionally I run my own record label (7d Media) and am a fully independent musician (recording, performing/touring, producing, licensing, composing and more.) All of my experience and advice is available to you.
We are a publishing company critiquing songs to help you get them ready to pitch for the country market.
I will provide you with a detailed song critique and advice as to how you can improve your song for radio play/mass appeal. As an artist who has recent commercial FM radio play and as owner/CEO of Concesco Production, I understand what it takes to connect with a wide audience.
I can give you a professional industry assessment and provide you with an objective and detailed analysis of your music’s suitability for advertising. From my years of experience as a senior Music Supervisor, I have discovered that there are some basic rules you can follow to maximize your chances of selection. Having worked directly with top global brands and advertising agencies over the years, I have observed how they select music and I can highlight elements within your track that could determine whether it’s selected or not. I can give you a detailed (approx. 1000 words) analysis of your music track, covering: Lyrics / Production / Instrumentation / Arrangement / Tone / Vocals / Melody / Rhythm / Emotion.
Are you constantly getting knocked back? Want to have more success in the music industry? ... then look no further - we will review your current offering and give you honest detailed critique. Please ensure in the submission you include links to your social media sites, official website, audio and video and publicity photo's and then leave the rest to us - working with some of the UK and Europe's biggest artists we understand what promoters, record labels and events are looking for.
As a live promoter who has been a music journalist and taken keen interest in all genres all my life, I can tell a strong song and distinguish that from production to help you achieve a definitive production for that song.
