GAYLAN TAYLOR Gaylan Taylor has been a resident of Phoenix since 1958. After graduating Alhambra High School, he actively began to pursue what was already a promising career in Music and Entertainment. A former New Christy Minstrel, Gaylan’s other ‘group’ endeavors have run the gamut from choreographed show bands to Bluegrass to 7 pieces (excluding The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra) to a solo act and everything in between. Some of those include The Win’Jammers, Igor’s Jazz Cowboys, The Arizona Smoke Revue, Glenn Yarbrough’s “Havenstock River Band” and now with The Limeliters. Gaylan has entertained audiences for more than 40 years in Night Clubs, Vegas Show-rooms, County Fairs, Jazz Festivals and Cafes in Europe, Canada, Mexico, South East Asia and of course the U.S. He has had the privilege to work with such notables as Buddy Hackett, The Smothers Brothers and Tom Paxton just to name a few. His musical journey has brought him to where he is today. As a songwriter, Gaylan has recorded 10 of his songs on his latest CD, ‘Taylor Made’ that features many prominent Phoenix Musicians and other songs with The Limeliters, The New Christy Minsrtrels and The Win’Jammers. As a singer, a colleague once commented that Gaylan’s voice was ……..”made of steel and laced with gold.” His guitar and vocal skills are featured on all CDs by Igor’s Jazz Cowboys, Bob Shane’s only solo CD, “The World Needs a Melody” as well as The Limeliter’s “Right From the Start”, Bill Zorn’s “The Bill Zorn Show” and his own “Taylor Made”. A record producer with countless CD projects under his belt, Gaylan is also a talented vocal arranger. Already blessed with much success, Gaylan plans to continue to grow and make the best music that he can based on life, dreams and peace.
