About the artist
Trip J is a Canadian Rapper/R&B Singer/Producer, who began creating music at an early age, spending the majority of his adolescence in Calgary, Alberta, and now abiding in Edmonton. Given the opportunity to live in Canada, The USA, as well as Ghana (Africa), his uncommon perspective allows him to extract from copious walks of life, incorporating personal, relative, and spiritual encounters within his writing.
Spending his early years in the rougher parts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, his passion for Hip-Hop began at the age of 6, when he heard “My Name Is”, by Eminem, for the first time. Trip’s early and current artistic influences include Eminem, Jay Z, Lil’ Wayne, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Drake, Andy Mineo, J. Cole, and Chris Brown. In recent years, the musician has strengthened in playing the bass guitar, the piano, drums, acoustic guitar, as well as the trumpet.
Since his 1st LP in 2013, to his 2020 summer hit “Waste of My Time”, earned Trip access to working with a number of high profile artists and songwriters, and has appeared on radio and TV Networks including “Slice”, “Showcase”, “Amazon Prime, plus a number of others. The Journey continues…
