Industry pro with over 20 years of radio programming. I've worked in great Cities including New Orleans, Buffalo, Detroit, San Francisco and have been at WBLS/WLIB since 2008. Always happy to discover new artists and ideas.
July 1951. WEVD-FM signs on for the first time, laying the foundation for what was to become America’s most recognizable black radio station. On September 15, 1965, WEVD changed its call letters to WLIB-FM and held to a Jazz format. This morphed to a more eclectic format that included R&B, Soul and Vocalese called “The Total Black Experience in Sound” featuring Del
Shields and Frankie Crocker as DJs. The evolution of this became the “Urban “Contemporary” sound. In 1974, it changed calls once again, this time to yours truly WBLS-FM.
