It is a multi-media, music entertainment company that markets its unique music repertoire, which before the recent joint venture with BMG Rights Management, included an interest in the Beatles songs written by John Lennon, the catalogs of Kurt Cobain/Nirvana, Steven Tyler/Aerosmith, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Chicago, Maurice White (Earth, Wind & Fire), Def Leppard, Steve Earle, Daniel Johnston, Marvin Hamlisch, The Matrix, Lamont Dozier and Steven Curtis Chapman, as well as artists such as Airborne Toxic Event, Albert Hammond Jr., John Forte, The Boxer Rebellion, New Boyz, Taddy Porter, Anberlin, writers such as Gregg Alexander, Ryan & Smitty, LP, RoccStar, among others; as well as marketing and administration agreements with Jimmy Webb, Katrina and The Waves, Graham Parker, Evolution Entertainment/Twisted Pictures, Hammer Films, Matt Serletic and Emblem Music Group, and many others.

Additionally, Primary Wave Music continues to expand their reach in talent management by partnering with the best in the industry to attract, develop and maintain a diverse talent management roster. Currently, Primary Wave manages artists such as CeeLo Green, Melissa Etheridge, Eric Benet, Natalie Imbruglia, Trevor Jackson, Ginuwine, V Bozeman, Cris Cab, Jenny O, All That Remains, Escort, producer/DJ Audien as well as writers/producers such as Matty Trump, Troy “Radio” Johnson and Ali Tamposi. Primary Wave also has an in-house branding company Brand Synergy Group, digital marketing company BrightShop, touring division and a Television & Film production / development team, which all support the management and publishing artist roster as well as retaining third party clients. Primary Wave is based in New York with offices in Los Angeles, CA and London.

Jake Livingston started his career as an artist manager. His first corporate job was making Active Rock records at Epic Records. As the rock market began to crash he segued into pop and rock producer management. In 2013 he joined Primary Wave Talent Management as a producer manager; finding initial success with his client Mitch Allan writing and producing Demi Lovato's double platinum hit "Heart Attack" and Ryan Hadlock producing five times platinum hit "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers. Shortly thereafter he joined Primary Wave Music Publishing as Senior Director, Creative working with songwriters LP (cowriter of Rihanna's "Cheers (I'll Drink To That)"), Jon RedWine (producer of Tinashe's "2 On"), and Jerrod Bettis (cowriter of Serena Ryder's "Stompa"). More recently, he has taken on the role of A&R for legendary artist Melissa Etheridge. Livingston's clients have collectively written and produced for Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis, Zendaya, Little Mix, Cher Lloyd, Karmin, Snoop Lion, Birdy, Gavin DeGraw, Sky Ferreira, Andy Grammer, Rita Ora, Betty Who, Colbie Caillat, G.R.L., Selena Gomez, Vance Joy, and One Direction.
