This tune is a tribute to our very good friend who had a long battle with cancer,like so many others,he finally succomed to this bad disease after beating it for so many years,

An old friend of mine,passed on before his time, A better friend than that,you could not find, No matter how he felt,he still had a smile, And he was always willing,to walk that extra mile, He was fighting a bad disease,you know the one i mean, He won that fight for many years,before he had been, Taken from us,that was a bad scene, Anything we had planned,he was always keen, Chorus Well watching him go thru pain and suffering we knew, He would get over it,he said no need to stew, Well,he was one of a kind,there is only a few, He would not give up,he had more things to do, Bridge During one of his stays,at that clinic those days, He said to me,when he got over his stay, We'd be going fishing,he had no dought, When he gave that cancer,one more clout, He wanted to get his self,a new fishing rod, When his treatment started ,he'd have a word with God, Well,he must have been listening,he came thru again, I don't know how many years it was,it seemed like ten, Chorus+Bridge His fight finally ended,during his last bout, With this bad disease,this time he wouldn't get out, We lost a very good man,there was no better, I can't say enough about him,even in a letter, Maybe when my job is done,I'll meet up with him, We could reminiss,about times that weren't so grim, But we won't mention that disease,that's taken so many, And one of them was,our good friend Lenny, Chorus
