THE ONES THAT GOT AWAY
He walks in through the door, wonders what he came here for.
It’s not exactly clear.
He has no part to play, even so he’s bound to stay.
There’s no-one else around.
He walks up to the bar, wonders how he got so far,
From where it all began,
When he was young and able, in love and almost stable.
For now he’s all alone.
And someone, somewhere still recalls when he could’ve had it all.
The one that got away remembers to this day.
It would be nice and easy if we had our time again.
We might jus get there in the end.
It would be so easy it is just possible,
He would make the same mistakes again.
She loved him from afar. Who knows what her reasons are,
For keeping it that way.
She’s always hiding something, worried about revealing something,
That someone else could use.
She is the independent prosecution and defendant,
For everything she’s done.
And now this baby girl that grew up in her mothers world,
Has wound up all alone.
And someone, somewhere far away, she misses every day.
She hated him before but she is not so sure now.
It would be nice and easy if we had our time again.
We might jus get there in the end.
It would be so easy it is just possible,
She would make the same mistakes again.
There are some things in life too valuable for us to hold,
And so we push them all away.
Now it’s much too late to tell you how I’m lost without the tenderness,
And love and trust and warmth I once had found in you….
It would be nice and easy if we had our time again.
We might jus get there in the end.
It would be so easy it is just possible,
I would make the same mistakes again.

Planet Hubris and The Apathy Myth: Biography
Jamie 'Stan' Stanley (aka: P.H.An.T.A.M.) has been writing, recording and performing his songs in various guises for around ten years. His initial acoustic outings at aged 18 were always well received on the London open mic circuit. He then formed indie-rock band Emporia, which enjoyed a brief spell of popularity on the London pub-venue circuit in 2003/4 before prematurely splitting up. His second outing, the heavy rock & electro influenced Origins of Oceania, was notably more productive, recording the self-produced, Pulse Rated playlisted, Propaganda Panda EP, as well as enjoying a successful mini-tour of London and the south east, culminating in a particularly special gig at legendary venue The Clapham Grand a month before it closed down in 2008. The same year, Stan conceived, directed and edited a short film style music video for Origins track "All This For Nothing", which has since been entered into a handful of film festivals. He also found time to produce an album for talented singer-songwriter Carl Picton.
Sadly, Origins of Oceania split in early 2009 due to geographical differences… So Stan is now going back to his roots and launching a solo career under the name Planet Hubris and The Apathy Myth (P.H.An.T.A.M.). Over the years, he has earned a reputation as somewhat of a political artist whilst still fully embracing the power of music to purely entertain. His ability to create catchy, upbeat pop songs, comparable to the likes of the Squeeze, Crowded House and the Foo Fighters, out of subjects more associated with the likes of Neil Young, Billy Bragg and Rage Against The Machine, is truly unique, empowering and uplifting in equal measure.
P.H.An.T.A.M.'s debut single Manifesto / Tell Me Lies is released on 26th April 2010 to coincide with the UK general election. All proceeds go to Amnesty International. More details can be found here:
