Liner notes
This song was written by Betty and Big Water. Betty is a 2010 Martin 000-M15 guitar. I just got Betty and this is the first song she and I have written together. Release Me was born on Sept 3, 2011 at 10 something AM on the Center Camp Performance Stage in Black Rock City, Nevada. It is a song of love and release to someone you care about and to yourself to allow life and love to move us through to what we can become. Much love. BW
About the artist
I was big when I was little, 22” at birth, 5’ 11” when I was 12 years old and now am close to 6’ 5” when I stand up straight. I’ve always been big and always been loud, things are no different now. I sing, I write, I am a maker of art, I build, I teach, I learn, I live hard and most of all I love, everything!
I don’t always like everything and know that life isn’t always fun. I am a moronic optimist. I know that the only thing I control is my attitude and me. I get my name from Lake Tahoe, CA and the Washoe Indian translation of ‘Tahoe’ meaning ‘Big Water’. I think life is a practice, a discipline, that it is beauty in motion that I am meant to run and jump and play in. I know that I am alive and am here to say, ‘What up? How are you?
My name is Big Water, what’s yours?’
Lyrics
Release Me (R. Selvaggio)
Lay me down, easily
Don't save your last tear for me
Release Me
Come hold me close, send me away
With all of your love and no words to say
Release Me
Release Me
All my life, the things I've tried to be
Have I really learned to see
That I am the who can set myself free
All my life, the things I've tried to be
Have I really learned to see
That I am the one who can set myself free
I close my eyes to rest my soul
Love forever, this I know...
