Liner notes

This is the song that got me, dcsapporo, back to writing and fronting the band NkDC38. The song was first conceived in the late 70's as I began my exploration into music and adolescent punkerty. Back then there was no internet. Late night radio or TV was your only source of streaming new music, unless you had the money to buy or guts to steal the latest records, vinyl. Regan was in office and a political nightmare was unfolding. Consumerism was taking the world by storm and people sought affluence and wealth. It was the start of humanity's devolution and social decline. Baby Booming Hippies hating Punks and Punks not giving a fuck. If only I could have had the talent to express what I was seeing unfold before me this song would have been written back then.

Lyrics

In the middle of it all
I lay waiting for my call
Every day spent in a cube
I do as I am told I believe in the Tube

No action taken
No opposition expressed
I accept the decisions
I submit to avoid conflict

Minutes after hours after days
Time slowly slips away
All that remains All that remains
Is this secure submissive gain

Monotonous social acceptance
I've aspired to attain
Submission for security
Mediocre gain

No action taken
No opposition expressed
I accept the decisions
I submit to avoid conflict

Spring blossoms and the pink peddles fall
In this submission I am secure from it all

Minutes after hours after days
Time quickly slips away
All that remains All that remains
Is this secure submissive gain

In the center of it all
I lie to avoid my fall
Everyday spent with a screen
I scroll past all my dreams

No action taken
No opposition expressed
I accept the decisions
I submit to avoid conflict

Spring blossoms and the pink peddles fall
In this submission I am secure from it all

Days after months after years
There is no time to spare
All that remains All that remains
Is a commitment to change

Spring blossoms and the pink peddles fall
In this submission I am secure from my call
