About the artist

About Tiki Lewis (new album on iTunes)
"..this years summer fave!" - Recording Magazine 2009

1st Place winner of American Idol Underground 'POP' competition with her song 'I Got Love'

'Drive Slow' to be featured on GOOD MORNING AMERICA Feb. 16, 2008 on their segment entitled "Your Three Words"

'Drive Slow' GarageBand Track of the Day Jan. 8, 2008

A Chicago native, Tiki was born to a African American mother and a Jewish father. Her father left the family soon after she was born not to be heard of or seen until 20 years later. She was raised by her mother in the Chicago projects. Life was not that easy growing up. Her earliest memories were of her mother creating songs and singing them to her and her two older sisters. These songs would bring joy, comfort, and inner peace to their home environment and souls. This paved the way for Tiki's musical development and gave her an artistic outlet that kept her out of trouble.

Tiki,.. young, beautiful, & lyrically seductive. These quiet, enchanting songs resonate with your soul and remind you where you came from.

Lyrics

I'm bored of this town again
Theres nothing left for me here
and it never ever begins
things just end

'Now' I remember why I left
I guess I lost my step
and I need to find my
way back to where I was.

I'm always trying to figure it out
this head of mine is riddled with doubt
and something tells me I'm not the only one
who doesn't get it.

vs.2
I started drinking again
I guess I should find a new set of friends
that can hold my hand
cuz growin up is full of fairy tales
white picket fences and wedding bells
and grandma waiting for you
on the fourth of july

and we're all getting older a little colder
we all become life soldiers
picking up the pieces that our parents broke

chorus:
I'm always trying to figure it out
this head of mine is riddled with doubt
and something tells me I'm not the only one
who doesn't get it.
And its ok cuz I'm not hard to please
curiousity gets the best of me.
I shouldn't take life so seriously
ooh I don't get it.

bridge:
I'm always tryin to figure it out
I'm always tryin to figure it out
This head of mine is riddled with doubt
and I don't see a way out so

And its ok cuz I'm not hard to please
curiousity gets the best of me.
I shouldn't take life so seriously
ooh I don't get it.

outro
Something tells me I'm not the only one that doesn't get it
Im not the only one who doesn't get it. Starts with Vocals and acoustic gtr. Drums kick in to lift song. Chorus hits @ 0:32sec mark. Chorus is very full band sound and super sing along vocal. Drums, gtrs, B4 organ. Great uptempo groove keeps your head knodding. This track doesn't lag anywhere it pushes all the way through to the end. Great little breakdown in bridge too.
