About the artist
Drawing inspiration from love, heartbreak, the
blues, Zach Birnbaum’s music can most easily be
described as contemporary adult folk pop. Hailing
from Ithaca, NY via Richmond, VA, Zach brings
both his worlds together, effectively blending
southern blues and folk influences with the pop
singer/songwriter style of the northern coffeehouse
scene. For his 2007 debut “Goodbye Tonight”, Zach,
with the help of producer Steve Barber and mixer
Jeff Juliano (John Mayer’s “Room For Squares”),
accentuated his pop side, drawing instant
comparisons to Mayer and Amos Lee. After over
two years supporting the release, Birnbaum returns
with “Still Trying”, an EP sounding straight out of a
trek through the mountains. Reuniting with
producer Barber, Birnbaum set out to create a work
of evolution, focusing predominantly on campfire-
style folk/blues, while never parting with the pop
sensibility that made his debut so accessible. For
those looking for a relaxing, soulful escape, look no
further than Zach’s music, no matter where you are.
