Liner notes

In 1990, I picked up the trumpet after an 8 year absence and shortly thereafter started jamming with a couple of friends. One of the jams laid the foundation for Love So Fine which I wrote lyrics for in 1999 while in Grenada, West Indies. In 2002 Dave James helped me score the horn parts. Love So Fine is for my wife Gloria. It is recorded with 24 tracks, half of which are dedicated to drums and percussion, and the other half are used for horns, vocals and guitars.

About the artist

Dave Harrison plays trumpet and flugelhorn with several artists in all Nova Scotia, Canada. His music presents the listener with a mix of Post Rock, World, Fusion, Folk and R&B influences.

In 2010 he released a recording of his own compositions entitled By The Slice. Encouraged by the response to By The Slice, Dave is now working on a new musical project called "Migration Roots" incorporating african percussion, world music and more acoustic styles into his music.

Lyrics

Love So Fine (Harrison)

If I’m gonna say to you please stay all night,
The sun’s gone down, want you by my side.
If I’m gonna say to you please hold me tight,
The stars fade away into dawn’s first light.

Love so fine, tastes like wine.
With you by my side I’m happy
Love you so, don’t you know
You make me so very happy!

Met my little girl down in Cozumel
Jewel in the crown of the Caribbean
Sun on my face and it sure feels swell
Like a mirror in the sand, you’re all I’m seein’.

Emerald in the sea, diamond in the sky
There's a halo of light on the horizon
Lost on my way and I don’t know why
Gonna find me the bed that she lies on.
