About the artist
The April Year was originally formed in mid-2010 by lead vocalist Spencer Walters, bassist Timothy Blom and guitarist/vocalist Tyler Madden with the most recent addition of drummer David Tansey. The quartet is one of the youngest up-and-coming pop-inflected acts - a refreshing addition to music today. Certainly, age is no factor when it comes to exceptional song-writing and raw musical talent from this group.
"The First Time In Forever" covers the rush of being in love, the pain of falling out of it and everything in between, based on firsthand and loved one's actual experiences. With sing-along lyrics to the sugary sweet song "I Can't Get Enough" and Spencer's impressive vocals of "So Much For The Art Museum," the EP as a whole easily comes across as a listen-to-anywhere type of record.
In just a year, the group has had the honor of receiving a highly coveted spot on PureVolume’s Top Unsigned Bands of 2010 along with a warm welcome to the music scene with features and press galore. With future plans to play exciting shows and festivals in the coming year, touring and maintaining an active bond with anyone that takes a listen to their music, both dedicated fans and newcomers, 2011 is sure to be a winning year for the ambitious group. The release of their new EP marks only the first chapter in a story of a driven band wanting nothing more than to share passion through music.
