Erik Played with James Brown for 7 years and has performed and recorded with Bootsy Collins and performs with other artist such as Sister Hazel, Thomas McClary founder of the Commodores and more. Erik teaches many of the major styles of music. Jazz, Funk, R&B, Rock&Latin. Erik also teaches the reading and writing of music at Drums2Go in Orlando. For 26 years Erik Hargrove has played the drums and percussion in various bands and groups.Erik has played in all sorts of musical situations as well. In high school Erik played in the marching band, concert bands, jazz band, steel drum band and also a local classic rock band. Erik continued after high school in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany for 3 years and served in the first Gulf War. A few years later Erik was stationed at Fort Gordon in Georgia. Erik left the military after 9 years of service and joined with The Late Great “James Brown” where he tour all over the world from January of 1998 until March of 2005. Erik is now doing various gigs around the world with Sister Hazel, Ken Block's Solo Performances,Thomas McClary ( Founder of “The Commodores”, Guitar Player and Writer of “Brick House”) Bootsy Collins in his “Tribute to James Brown” where he toured Europe and Japan in 2008 and 2009. Erik Hargrove is involved in Full Sail Univ.'s Recording program in Orlando Florida.
