Owner and founder, composer/pianist John Altenburgh has been one of the mainstays of jazz/blues since his first recording "Old City" was released in 1989. With that release came the birth of Altenburgh Records, which now boasts recordings by Mike Metheny, Rebecca Parris, Johnny & The MoTones, Gary Sivils, The Kenny Hadley Big Band, John Greiner and numerous others.
Altenburgh Records has placed numerous recordings in the Jazz and Blues charts since the early 1990's, the most recent being the Johnny & The MoTones release, "Nothin' To Lose," spending 8 weeks in the Cashbox blues chart in 2011.
The company has also expanded into licensing, including potential material for its recording artists and music for commercial placement. Founder John Altenburgh is sure to keep his finger on the pulse of the national jazz and blues scene.
