ABOUT ALADDIN
Aladdin Royaal first made a name for himself as a DJ, spinning at the biggest and best clubs in Sydney, Australia. Soon he realized that he had a keen talent for beats, hooks and sounds, and began creating a state-of-the-art home studio where he could record around the clock. His signature remixes have charted in Australia, Europe and in South Africa.
Aladdin now spreads the gospel of Dance music via radio, clubs, YouTube, and numerous major and indie labels. New releases have featured well-known acts including Christine W. and Goldfish, and his new discoveries: Kellam Glover, Alexandra, and Brian B.
A prolific writer, Aladdin is constantly seeking great vocalists whose voices can get a packed club up on the floor and keep them dancing.
ABOUT ALEX
Award-winning hit songwriter Alex Forbes is a first call for many of New York's finest producers, artists and writers. Her knack for writing unforgettable hit singles has helped her place numerous songs on the Billboard Pop, Dance, Adult Contemporary and International charts, while others have appeared on gold and platinum albums, TV and feature film projects, and an Off-Broadway play. Over 75 songs have been commercially released.
As a lyricist, guitarist and vocal producer, Alex contributes her unique sensibilities and insights to each writing and recording session. Instead of reaching for the easy cliché, she digs beneath the surface to find lyrics and melodies that ring true.
With influences that range from the Beatles through Nirvana and up to Lady Gaga, Alex refuses to be limited in her stylistic wanderings. Recent releases range from the melodic pop of “This Is The Life,” featured on The Hills, to the beat-heavy dance music of “Melt Away” in the Denzel Washington film Déjà Vu, to the heavenly contemporary classical vocals of Hayley Westenra on “You Are Water” (Universal). Her song “Lights Out” on Central Station/Univeral Australia recently hit the Club Singles Chart, and just came out in Germany on Kontor.
An unapologetic New Yorker, Alex picked up the guitar at age 16 and wrote her first songs soon thereafter. After graduating from Stanford University with a Creative Writing degree, she moved to Manhattan and plunged into the songwriting world.
Her first hit, Alisha’s “Too Turned On” rapidly became a dance music classic, and was followed by Taylor Dayne’s “Don’t Rush Me,” (#2 Pop, #6 Dance, #3 AC, ASCAP Pop Award). Other songs on the Pop charts included “Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix” (#19, co-produced by Alex) and “In A Dream,” (#72 with Rockell). Numerous songs have charted in other territories, including France, Denmark, UK and Asia.
An avid collaborator, Alex works with a wide variety of co-writers, producers and recording artists in the US, Europe and Australia. Several of her recent songs are awaiting release in 2011.
