AZRA ROSS, CEO and IN-HOUSE PRODUCER
Azra has been working on her music career since she first learned to play the piano at age 5. In 2003 she graduated from the Harris Institute For The Arts at the top of her class, before moving on to become a studio instructor at her alma mater. Since then, she has been on both sides of the studio glass, as a musician and Producer/Engineer. Working out of Maison de Musique in Toronto, ON has given her the opportunity to work with world class artists, including Olivia Newton-John, and multi-million selling songwriter/artists such as Stephan Moccio and Marc Jordan. She has learned from the best engineering talents in the country, working with the legendary Lenny DeRose, Juno award winners Vic Florencia and Denis Tougas, and Jeff “Diesel” Dalziel. She herself has several gold and platinum records, and has worked on three Juno-nominated albums.
Azra's business experience has been extensive and varied for her relatively short career. In addition to owning her own business since 2001, she is Operations Manager at both Bijou Records (2006-) and Sing Little Penguin Publishing (2003-). She is also Music Production Co-ordinator for the CTV hit Canadian Idol, working side by side with Orin Isaacs to create musical beds for competitors' performances on-air.
