How does Music Xray Diagnostics affect Legacy users on Music Xray?
If you created your account before Feb. 20th 2013, here’s how our new changes will affect your account.Any song previously submitted to an opportunity on our site will automatically receive access to Music Xray Diagnostics. You will be able to use Music Xray as you always have for any of those songs. Any ratings you have previously received will collect on your Track Management page, as well as any information from previous Fan Match (now called fan targeting) campaigns. You will still be able to make submissions to any opportunity on the site in the way you currently do without the requirement of purchasing Diagnostics for those songs (although we recommend you do because it’s awesome!).
What about songs that I’ve uploaded but never submitted? Any song that was not submitted before February 20th will require the purchase of Diagnostics before you’ll be able to submit it (or purchased at the time of submission). The Diagnostics package will allow you to get a general understanding of the track’s potential before you submit and it. (It is only purchased upon a songs first submission).
Where are all my previous submissions? You may notice a new dashboard when you log in to your account. All of your songs will be displayed on this page. Songs you have submitted to opportunities before Feb. 20 will show at the top of the page. To view a past, pending, or current submission, simply click on the “Manage Track” button and navigate to the “Submission Management” tab. You’ll be able to view all previous submissions, as well as any future submission statuses in this area.
Why did Music Xray make these changes? As fellow musicians and songwriters, we know you want to reach fans and industry professionals. But reaching them without getting the result you desire (actually landing a deal and acquiring new fans) is frustrating. With Diagnostics, we are able to show you your song’s potential and a recommended path to achieving the results you want. Our ability to show you this information upon a song’s first submission (instead of 5 or more submissions as was previously the case), saves you more time and money than ever before and simultaneously making the process transparent.
