Platinum and gold success there(New Jack City, Take 6,Prince) led to my position at VP at Island Records (NYC) where we had the first mulit-platinum album by a female rap group Salt-n-Pepa. This led me to a positon at Arista Records under Clive Davis where for 4 years straight we led the industry with the most chart success since Berry Gordy's Motown in the 1960's. Artists like Whitney Houston, Usher, Toni Braxton, Notorious BIG, TLC,OutKast and others benefitted from the promotional efforts of my team.
I was tapped to serve as SVP Urban Promotions at Capitol Records when the company decided to return to Urban music after a 7 year hiatus. We returned with a gold ablum by pre-teen star Sammie. As the industry began to shrink, I left Capitol and began consulting independent artists and labels
