Before The Waves Come by Owen Critchley
Lyrics
VERSE:
Melanie sips lemonade
As her legs hang in the water
I can see the sky across her face
She believes she’s lost without a trace
And she says, "I don’t know
But I think I was beautiful"
And she cries when she says
CHORUS:
I want to fly
Because I can’t run anymore
I’m so tired
Before the waves come
Maybe then I’ll see
What I can’t believe again
VERSE 2:
Daniel brings a robe
For the lady by the water
Melanie is tattooed across his chest
He survives on love and loneliness
She’s so beautiful
Daniel cries when she says
CHORUS:
I want to fly
Because I can’t run anymore
I’m so tired
Before the waves come
Maybe then I’ll see
What I can’t believe again
BRIDGE:
She says, "Can you see me, Daniel?
Can you reach me baby?
Can you save me darling?"
Before the waves come
I want to fly
Because I can’t run anymore
I’m so tired
Before the waves come
Maybe then I’ll see
What I can’t believe again
