Gene Clash is a producer and artist born in Dubai to a British mother and Emirati father. This clash of Western and Eastern genes gave rise to an exceptionally unique individual, hence the name Gene Clash! Gene started writing lyrics in 1995 and eventually started making his own beats so that he could further his creative control. This allowed him the freedom to hone his own style and approach, making music in a more multifaceted manner. He started furthering his production efforts in 2000, and started to develop his own trademark 'clash' sound. Gene had a great passion for funk and mo-town from an early age. This was inspired by his father's dusty record collection. However Gene could appreciate good music from all genres. This is consistently reflected in his unique music and style.
